Engine Light

Went for a ride last night and the speedo quit on my 07 custom. Also noticed a rough low idle speed and engine light going on and off. All this after a gas up.

Check the speed sensor and the wiring to it. The fuel injection changes the idle mixture to limp along mode if it doesn't see a problem with the speed sensor.

Called the stealership service manager and described the problem. Immediately indicated it probably was a bad regulator on the output side. We'll see Saturday morning. I'l let you know. Thanks.

I had a similar problem last year on my 07 883C. Went around a right curve in the road and the spedo dropped to zero. Hit a bump and it went back on. This happened twice and hasn't happened since they fixed the corroded fuses.
