clutch cable
I have a 1999 sportster 883.
I need to adjust my cable after 150 miles
cable is good. free play was 1/8" after riding 150 miles the free play was over 9/16". had to do this a few time .

The only other thing I can think of is that your cable is on the way out and strands are breaking little by little. I cant believe that your clutch and friction plates are wearing out that quickly.
