Default Burly Slammers?

I have a 2000 sportster XL1200. Does anyone have any experience putting the burly 10.5'' slammers on theirs? I'm looking to lower the bike in the rear only. I'm curious about anyone's experience with them.

It depends on what type XL you have. I have a XL1200L and it lowered the bike 1". Probably a good idea to get a shorter kickstand....I replaced mine since the bike was a little too upright for my liking.

Rear shocks install is a simple process provided you have a jack.

It is the XLH model. What would you recommend for a new kickstand?

I like them, the ride is much smoother on my butt. Install was easy with a jack under the frame. I'll see if I have other install pics

You may not need a new kickstand if you are only doing shocks. You will need to assess after the shocks are installed. If too upright re-install the original shocks and find shorter kickstand.
I did both shocks and fork springs. The stance had a slight lean but still too upright for peace of mind. One good bump and there goes some of your investments.
Also be aware of the gap between the fender and the tire...especially the strut bolts.
Just some things to consider when lowering your bike.

Here's my 72 with 10.5" Burly Slammers. They dropped it about an inch. My forks are stock. Better ride than the stock shocks, but very little travel. I don't mind though. Keep in mind that the stock shocks on my bike were 11.5" and yours are most likely 13.5" so you will see a drastic difference in height. Changing that much on the rear only may be a little more awkward than mine only going down an inch.
