Default best guess?

I have a 96 1200 sportster. Went for a ride Saturday with the wife on the back and twice when making a right hand turn from a stop the back tire felt like it slipped, kind of like going over a tar snake. Put it on the jack yesterday for a once over, I didn't have the time to take the wheel off. I could not feel any side to side movement, it has a spoke wheel. Any guess as root what I'll find when I get into it?

How old are the tires?

What tires are on there?

How fast were you turning the corner?

Was the road free of any and all debris?

Check that all spokes are tight. I was behind a guy once that looked like he had no wheel bearings or swingarm bushings at all, and it was scary to watch that back end randomly shift around. As soon as we got to a place where we were both stopped, I told him and we discovered the source. Several spokes were very loose.

My buddies Dyna just had the same issue.. THEN had a "flex" in the rim. Needed to replace from the hub out.

That's scary. Happened to me once. Almost lost it. Tire was pretty low. Doesn't sound like that is your issue though.
