Wanna get a service manual in anticipation of getting my Iron... Is the Haynes manual the best one to get even though it only covers up to the '10 models?
I searched Ebay and found all the factory manuals for my 2007 XL883 for a total of less than $130. Service, parts, and electrical diagnostics manuals. Even if you do not do your own work, at least you are less likely to pay for unnecessary work whether from a dealer or an indy. Knowledge will save you money in the long term. Just my opinion based upon experience.
When you buy the bike don't they have to supply you with a manual? Just read up while they prep your bike brother, they had to detail mine and do some paperwork so I was sitting at the dealer reading for 30mins

You get an owners manual when you purchase the bike. The service or repair manual is a whole different ball of wax.

No they don't give you a service manual when you buy a new bike. I also seriously doubt you can read the service manual in thirty minutes. Looks like you are confusing the owners manual with the service manual. If you have to read the owners manual before leaving the dealer, your salesman did a crappy job.
