My 2012 Custom with 4500mi is sputtering, jerking, etc when hitting bumps in the road, while cruising with the throttle just cracked. Yesterday when I first rode it, it ran just fine. Awhile later it started doing the same thing again! I tried wiggling wires. I re-did my battery connections. I replaced the TPS, and cleaned the TMAP. All I have installed are XIEDS. It has the stock ac housing & element. I do have Khrome Werks slip-ons with the sound reducers also. The thing will run just fine on smooth pavement, but around here there are plenty of bumpy roads. Any ideas? (Check engine light has not come on either) Thank you!

Sounds like you may be running it at low rpm's. When you hit a bump there is a slight change in the throttle that results in the bucking, because of the low RPM's.
What gear/speed is this occurring at?
Sportsters like to run at 3000 rpm's or higher, even at cruise with the throttle barely cracked.
Thanks for the ideas. How about 45mph in third gear with the throttle locked, it has done it. If I hit a large bump on the freeway it will stumble also. But, if I coast over the bumps (ie railroad tracks) clutch pulled & throttle closed, it does not do it.

Reason: make my explanation more clear.

Nope, that is not a lugging stumble...next thing I would check is to see if any wires are loose to the coil, and if the plug wires are good....also the connection to the ECM....pull it off and use some dielectric grease on it.
If it does it on a full tank, then it is probably not a crack in the fuel pick-up hose, but if it does it more when the fuel tank is not topped off, then that could be it.
Thanks for the ideas! I shall delve into them. I suppose I'll have to remove the fuel tank to get an unobstructed view of the wires. I will make a note of fuel level when stumbling occurs. Thanks again. (I pulled the battery and cleaned both connections) Do TSSM ever go bad?
Today it ran fine to and from our usual destination, ~15 mi. each way. I hate to queer my good luck by mentioning it. I did pull the ECM off the battery box, but did not un-plug it, cause I had no dielectric grease. (Would plumbers grease do the job?) Anyhow, me happy right now. Thanks again for the ideas.

Sounds like maybe there is a poor connection on the ECM plug and it is working well once you shifted it around by pulling it off the box.
I would go to an auto parts store and get a $2 packet of dielectric grease.
