Default Broken fork stop

So I have a repair question. Last yr some jerkoff backed into the bike. Long story short one of the parts broken was the lower triple tree. I'm looking to replace it. I've found some on eBay with the steering stem attached to them. Would I be able to directly swap the whole unit out or do I have to use my steering stem.

check ronnies for matching trees and scour ebay for non-cracked up trees. or look for matching year/model trees.

Is the only problem a broken fork stop? Could probably get somewhere like an exhaust shop to weld a little piece of metal there.

The way it was broken and the fact that's it's cast means it's not too safe to try to put it back on. Or so I've read.

You would be able to directly swap the whole unit-no need to use your steering stem. You should be able to find what your looking for on eBay or even your local CL.

Thanks. That's what I figured. Would I need to do any fork alignment or anything with this repair?
