The TSSM in my 08 sportster went bad. Hoping this is the last item In a long list of things already replaced to get this bike to start, if I found a decent prices one on eBay could I settle for used part or would that be stupid to by used and chance it dying shortly after install?

Thanks I appreciate it, this is my first bike and when it comes to working on cars in great, bikes are a different sorry so I'm learning as I go. Do I have to remove entire battery box to get to TSSM or is there a way to remove from the bottom?

you will just remove the battery. lift the tssm/tsm up through the hole and release the clips. it will come right out. other goes right it. 1/2 hour job if you don't get to touching stuff. it's covered in there. now would be a good time to grab a service manual too. i found mine on ebay.
Thank you, I called rossiters and they wanted $152 dollars for one where I found one on eBay for $64 and free shipping. That's why I wasn't sure if I should try to buy used or not.

used is a crap shoot but, there are so many people crashing sportsters that you should have no problem finding one in good shape. peace of mind and 1 warranty = 152.
