Default Need help installing front wheel

I put the front wheel up to the forks and pushed the axle on with the spacers in the right place. It goes to the other side but not far enough that the threads are poking out. Now I can't even get the axle back out. Any advice?

Is the bolt on the fork on the non thread side loose? Axle should easily slide all the way in

it's caught on the spacer or you have the washer that goes on the outside on the inside.

wiggle the axle/wheel to get the axle through the spacer and out the other side if the washer is not on the inside. the axle is stepped so it will get caught if you dont guide it.

From the looks of the first picture, it looks like the axle is not properly lined up with the forks. If the wheel is not square with the forks the axle may be binding.

If it were me I would take it all apart and start over. Wiggle the wheel a little and try pulling out the axle. It should come out easy if it is not binding. You could also try carefully prying the fork apart at the pinch bolt area to free up the axle.

Once it is apart verify the washers on on the correct sides. When I replaced my tires I used some blocks to hold the wheel up between the forks just where I wanted it so I could use one hand to line up the wheel and the other to side the axle in without having to hold up the weight of the wheel.

i use a floor jack to raise and lower the wheels. i usd a rubber mallet to convince the axle to move when it is unmotivated.

I tried to square the wheel by putting blocks under it and even had someone pull on the axle while I lifted and wiggled the wheel. Nothing was happening. I can twist the axle though.

I just left the house but when I get back I will use another jack for the wheel. I was thinking of getting a piece of wood and banging it out with a hammer. Would this be a bad idea?
