Default Handlebar Question

Hi I have learned a lot from these forums i have a stock sportster 1200 custom love it but at times i feel like my back hurst and i want to lean back- i have adjust handlebars to no avail. I have sundowner seat and I think i need new bars. I am looking at chumps after a lot of research . i am 5'5 and it looks like chumps would raise my arms and give me some pullback to a comfortable spot - I did the eyes closed test. I also have forward controls. Assuming i ma on correct page - would I need to buy longer cables? I would prefer not to but will.
Thanks for your comments and suggestions in advance

My guess is yes, you'll need longer cables. My Low came stock with pullback bars with a few inches of rise to them. The brake line was just long enough for Chumps.

The stock bars on your Custom doesn't have a lot of height, the height is in your risers.

I just put 10 inch Z bars on my iron (which I think uses the same size stock bars as your 1200) the only thing I needed to extend was the brake line. I got mine from magnum shielding. I believe I got +2 inches for mine and it fits perfectly

I think you will find that the stock brake line is a single assembly and cannot be modified - it isn't designed to be dismantled. Aftermarket brake line kits are available from many sources, including Ebay, in various lengths to suit most bar heights.
