The iridium plugs are for a stock engine and in that application with E10 gas they will improve performance as the concentrated spark that they have will ignite the alcohol faster than regular plugs. The additional benefit is that they will last 100K miles as they are self cleaning.
If the bike has performance improvements the copper core plug is still the best plug to use.
However was the iridium plug the correct plug spec'd for the right heat range and resistance.
I run iridium plugs of the correct spec's in all of my collection and they have improved the performance and mpg's in every case from TC88's to 120R's. The correct plug for the TC's will have the proper ohm resistance for the TC's that require it.
Again be sure that any brand plug that you buy is the proper plug replacement for the H-D plug.
If the extended life range of an iridium is true, then aren't they are the cheaper plug?
agreed. like i said before. the iridium is just a more efficient stock replacement so it weird that it wouldn't work. from what i read it seems that the most people fell the stock plug is more then enough spark for the motor. i run iridium's because "they are better" or "they spark better" ill never really know which ones my bike prefers .. But ll stick with iridium cuz why not? it works
