Looks good wreckwriter. Let us know how you like that size. If you want to change it up, lots of aftermarket makes a replacement shield for those brackets, so you have some choices.
Does look like I'll have to change it up a bit. Wife says it lines up high on the bridge of my nose. Seems about right but this thing is so close to my sight line that it's distracting AF.
Not sure if I need a shorter one, thinking 16 inch, or maybe I just need to get used to this?
When riding I am looking over it, mostly. So close but I feel like it's too tall
I have the HD quick release. I'm your height and it works well for me.
The key to a windshield is that the windshield should come as high as the tip of your nose. This way you get the coverage you want without having to look through the windshield and without the wind buffeting.

Real easy to cut down if wanted to.
Mark it by setting the height you want with short piece of masking tape. Take a medium point marker, tie string to it. Holding one end on the center bolt mount bracket make an arch mark on shield. Tape off with duct tape, cut off with jig saw. Sanding block with 360 grit paper to smooth edge and contour. Done
Might mention, using a jig saw will want to jump around. Start your cut with a hack saw.
If you look to HD for the shorter shield they only sell the complete shield and mounts.

Yea, sounds easy. No way in hell I could manage that. Don't have a jig saw and never been good at cutting anything.

There's a bunch of aftermarket options for just the shield part. Just have decide if I need 17 or 16.....
