Default Vibration under load

Working on a XL883L that is vibrating badly under load. Have checked alignment and rear wheel, lower motor mount bolt torque, upper mounts and swing arm torque. When I pull in the clutch it goes away instantly, and can rev the engine up or down and it stays smooth, as soon as the clutch is let out the vibration is back. Doesn't matter how fast or what gear just load conditions. I am questioning the lower bushings/motor mounts. Bike is a 2014 with 15000 on it. Any ideas? Thanks.

Is it a constant rhythm, or is it more of a pulse?

More of a pulse i guess. It transfers throughout the whole bike. Tank, pedals, bars, air cleaner. If you roll off the throttle it calms down to normal just a little buzz in the grips. But even the tiniest bit of load causes the whole bike to go nuts. When my shovelhead acts this way it's a warning shot, but not sure on this one. The lower mounts are sagging down some, and look mushy but I would think they would last longer than 2 years.

There's a fairly common issue on rubber mount XL's with some bolts shearing at the rear isolator mount, causing instability and wobbling. I haven't heard of it causing vibration under load, but it might be worth checking ...

Not my pictures, they came from a thread on the XL Forum.

Pretty common with Sportys. They don't like to be lugged. I have an '011 and '05. Just replaced the front isolators on the '05 and it didn't change a thing.

Found it today. Someone put some chrome bolts in the head/upper motor mount that were just a touch too long. Looked tight and when I checked you couldn't see any gap. Just noticed there weren't any washers on them so I was going to add them and when I pulled them could see where the plate was moving slightly. Changed them out, torqued them up and vibration is pretty well gone. Sent it out with the guy today and all is good. Thanks for all your ideas!
