new battery, no fouled plugs, checked fuses what next ? help !!

 

When you say does not start what exactly happens, does the engine try to turn over.

what year is your bike.

The reason I ask is it could be a number of things based upon why your bike wont start and of course it matters a lot at what year it is.

When you turn the ignition does the idiot lights come on, neutral, oil light ect.

Also, check your kill switch, and if it's carbed, your petcock.

 

its a 2008 1200 sportster custom. It seems like its not getting fuel. Tried starter fluid and wants to start but only for a couple seconds and the nothing

 

All electrical stuff is fine. Idiot lights etc.. cranks great new battery

 

fuel injector problem ? I hope not

 

Your going to have to bare with me, as all my experience with Harley Davidson's are with Evo models, however I do own two Honda's with EFI so the principle is going to be the same, I have just had the same problem with a Honda Fireblade, which in the end involved me changing the whole main loom.

First question.

When you turn the ignition on, do you hear the fuel pump priming?.

Obviously this is with the kill switch turned to run.

Does it have gas in the tank? Kill switch?
