fob problems
If its the later. You would start it with the PIN.
If the previous own was a lazy idiot, the PIN is the last [X] digits of the VIN. (X=The amount of digits can be determined by the number of places/digits that the PIN uses).
Turn on the ignition, (do not shake the bike or turn the stearing or raise it off its stand) quickly hold down both turn signals until the Key Icon flashes at a high rate in the odemeter window (5 flashes).
enter first digit of your pin by pushing the left turn signal until the first digit shows in the odometer, once the correct digit is reached, press the right turn signal 1 time to store it.
enter second digit of your pin by pushing the left turn signal until the second digit shows in the odemeter, once the correct digit is reached, press the right turn signal 1 time to store it.
continue doing this until you have entered all 5 digits of your pin. once you have entered the 5th digit and stored it by hitting the right turn signal once, the key icon will stop flashing, you can now mount, start and ride your bike.
If the owner or shop changed the pin, you'll need to drag the bike to the dealer to have the bpin reset and fobs programming. They will probably do it free or change .5 hours labor. Takes 10 minutes or less.

You are, more than likely, going to have to take it to the dealer or an indy that has a digital technican or a "lifted" version of the DT...
