Can-bus or not?

Hello old chap. Add UK to your location, so you make it clear where you live. An Optimate is a battery minder, as we call them here, in other words a tender, it is not a trickle charger which is a quite different thing. If you use the pigtail your Optimate comes with, connected direct to your battery, it doesn't matter if your bike is Canbus or not.

The pig tale was already installed from factory
I have plugged it in and use it in can-bus mode that's what the chap at Guildford Harley shop said I should do :-)

Pigtails are commonly used by dealers these days, my last three have all had them, although they are all from the same fave brand! Can't afford a Canbus one these days, but perhaps one day.
