I just installed Harleys Compact Sport windshield on my 2016 883 Iron . I have removed the retaining clips and tried to reposition the clutch cable and it still rubs on the left corner of the shield when the handle bars are turned to the left. The cable is on the outside of the left fork . I could take apart the clutch lever and re-route the entire cable to the inside of the fork, however the angle coming from the clutch lever may be to great. Any ideas. Thanks
That's one of those challenges that is worth spending a little time experimenting with! Once you've disconnected the cable at the lever end you can try whatever optional routes you can find. I've done that on an older bike, but can't help with your Iron.

or make one out of some wire and protect it from corrosion.
point of all that is to guide the cable away from your shield, like so in this sportster custom. The guide sits under the trees and directs the cable's path. I will be installing one soon:
I would say the main cause is the bars. Those bars are pulled back, causing the cable to arc around. I would say either get new bars with less pull back, or a longer cable routed through the inside of the fork tubes.
