loose battery terminals

loose battery terminals
my battery terminals keep getting loose way too much and caused both terminals to melt due to a dry start. What can i do to prevent the terminals loosening up plus where can i get a replacement terminal boots?

The terminal boot is about $3 at HD (I checked for a 2013 XL1200C)
What battery do you have? Some of the aftermarket batteries have an offset to the terminal that needs a spacer when you tighten it down. The HD battery has the terminal all the way to the side of the battery.
