I would agree i just added the SE clutch spring for the 883->1200 upgrade and i feel no difference in terms of handle pull. Clutch grabs real nice though.

I have the SE clutch with the heavier spring and the increase in pull was noticeable at first but isn't so bad now. It does have a different feel than the stock clutch, it seems to engage quicker.

If you want the kit to remove the spring plate, just buy the extra plate SE clutch.
It does not have the heavier spring.

Help me out here. If I replace the spring plate with the kit you listed, is there still a clutch spring with the original clutch. Sorry to sound so ignorant on the issue but I have not torn down a sporty clutch before.

The Clutch plate kit I linked, 37980-10, includes the friction and steel plates to replace the stock ones including the "spring plate". You would use your original clutch diaphragm spring.

The other SE Clutch kit, 38002-04, also includes a 10% higher rate clutch diaphragm spring.

http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...nce-clutch-kit
Kit includes KevlarŽ-based friction discs and performance clutch spring

Both kits will replace the original clutch "SPRING Plate" with a friction and steel plate.

The Stock clutch has 6 steel plates, 8 friction plates and 1 spring plate with a diaphragm spring.

Code:
23 37924-04A SPRING, CLUTCH PLATE 1
24 37911-90 FRICTION PLATE (PAPER) 8
25 37912-91 PRESSURE PLATE 1
26 37913-90 STEEL PLATE 6
27 37977-90 SPRING PLATE 1

If anyone has a SE clutch please advise about the increase in lever pull
Thanks
HD already voided the warranty by putting a grenade in you transmission, the spring plate is going to go, not IF but WHEN so do yourself a flavor and install the energy one pack, it is worth the effort and peace of mind.

Cheers from Israel.
