Default Odd cable

Took the battery cover off and found the below cable. And ideas?

The cable in question is the Oxford one, which plugs into the plug in the second picture.

It looks like a hookup for a battery tender. The other end should be connected directly to the battery. Used to keep the battery from going flat when parked for extended periods of time.

Don't know the ID, but I would definitely get a cap and some dielectric grease on it.

For sure^. The first photo is an SAE connector, almost certainly for a battery tender. The second looks like a power connector for heated gear. I'm not sure from your description how the two are connected; heated gear can be connected to the SAE connector through an adapter, or directly to the battery in parallel to the tender connector.

Thanks for the help guys!

For your reference, the link was that the end of the Oxford cable was plugged into the second picture next to the fuse box, so was curious to its purpose.

Hello old chap. Oxford is a UK brand and I suspect our North American chums may not be familiar with it. A coaxial connector like that is probably for electrically heated gear, it certainly isn't a common fitting used with a battery minder/tender. May even be for powering an intercom. Check the Oxford website if curious!
