So the past few times I've been out riding, my bike has felt like it was sputtering, the check engine light will come on, then bike will just shut off. I toggle the run/off switch and start it again and the check engine light is gone. Two minutes later, same thing happens. Half the times I've encountered this problem, I've been coming to a stop. The other half, I've been really booking it, which has me very concerned.
After researching here, many people have said to check all wiring for proper connections and run a diagnostic test. All wires are connected correctly. The diagnostic test came up with nothing but on the screens that follow "DIAG" I got
"ECM Y"
"BCM N"
"SPDO N"
I take this to mean that at the least, I have a bad BCM and will need to get this replaced. Am I correct in this thinking?
The bike isn't that old and only has around 1500 miles on it. And the ECM died on me last year.
ECM Y means there is a code stored. You need to pull it up. BCM N means there is no code. spdo N means no code. Look in the diagnostic sticky at the top of the page and it will tell you how to access the code.
Thank you guys so much!
Error code P2300 and P2303 came up. This corresponds to
P2300 "Ignition Coil Driver low/open (front)"
P2303 "Ignition Coil Driver low/open (rear)"
Any ideas on how to fix this or is this a part that just needs replacing?
