48 Tank upgrade

48 Tank upgrade
So I just got a 2011 Sportster 48. I’m loving it! Problem is stopping every f-ing 45 miles to fill up.
I don’t do a lot of long rides but enough that it’s a real pain in the ***; especially when my bros are riding street bobs and road glides etc...
what I want to know is exactly what year model bracket of Nightster or 883 Iron will fit directly on my 48 without modifications.
Eg: would a 2009 Nightster or 883 Iron tank work? Or a 2013? At what point with they not be comparable.
and, by the way, only those two model bike’s tanks will do for me as I want to maintain the peanut tank look. Just want another 35+ miles out of it on trips.
For example; a 1200 custom or the like wouldn’t work; I hate those tanks.
Thanks for any insight into my delima!👊🏻😎

A stock fuel injected forty eight should get 80mi before it runs out(granted, it does start to bog on hard acceleration and fast corning after the light comes on)
Mine is stage 1 and I can easily go 72 miles before it runs out (and I work it like a rented mule)
I love the 48 tank, so my solution was to get a couple - fuel reserve bottles - they give me more confidence running the bike near empty (they only hold 30oz each but that will get you another 18mi
they fit well on the shocks

First off that damn tanks looks awesome man!
second, you said @80 miles on the 48 stock tank...my fuel light goes on at @45-50 miles. Does that mean I have 25-30 miles after the light goes on?

when it gets low you dont need to dog it too much as it has a tendency to wash the fuel away from the fuel pump resulting in a lean bog
