Finally got some time to work on my bike last night, which is a 2016 Sportster forty eight, and ended up having clearance issues with the tank lift and speedo relocate. I also relocated the coil and ignition and did a wire tuck but all that worked out fine. The tank lift is a kinetic 2.5" lift. When I turn the bars right or left the tank ears bump the top triple tree about a quarter inch before full lock. Any idea on how to correct this? For the speedo relocate I used a dk custom kit that relocates the speedo and idiot lights. When I turn to the left it hits my front left fork tube well before full lock. I have tried spacing it in and out and changing the angle every way possible and I can't get it to fully clear. Was hoping someone had an idea. Thanks in advance!
If some part of your bars are touching the tank before full lock, you can use a small spacer put onto the stops. A 1/8" spacer should be enough to make it so it will go full lock just before touching the tank.
I'll try to get some pics on here of where exactly it's hitting. I don't have any bars on it right now. The top triple tree is what's actually contacting the ears on the front of the tank. And the fork leg itself is hitting the speedo relocate. I don't think the bars are gonna be an issue
yeah, post a pic or two of where the tank lift is touching. i used the
dkcustoms tank lift and had zero interference, so it may be how your
tank lift was put together.
I could go with a shorter tank lift if I had to but it looks great with that 2.5 inch lift. If I can make it work somehow I'd like to. Has anyone used the dk deluxe kit? It says it can move the back of the tank up or back about 3/8" I don't want to go up really but if it'll move it back 3/8" that might clear it

The Kinetic tank lift is a replica of our Patented tank lift but it's not exact. This could be at least part of the issue but we can't say for sure.
If you could email us some pictures to our email provided below, we could further help you out with this issue either through email or by phone if you'd prefer to give us a call after emailing us some pictures.
