HD hesitated when I asked about V&N slipons for my bike. Just wanted to add a little sound to it. They said they're under alot of pressure due to EPA about decibel output. Anyone else have this come up?

There has been an under-current of discussion about customers and dealers modifying stock bikes straight off the showroom floor for many years. H-D has cut back a lot on its SE parts due to the pressure you mention. EPA no doubt will argue that there is no point manufacturing compliant vehicles if the scurrilous customers then modify them! I fear there is an inevitable outcome just over the horizon.....
just buy the pipes and put theme on. ever need to take the bike to the dealer, put the stocks back on first...if you are nervous.
simple as that. it's not a full system, just slip ons. you don't even need to tune them (can if you want but, not 100% required). if the dealer isn't selling them order off the interwebs. tons on ebay.
That exhaust will burn up the valves in no time flat. The efi systematic A/F controller switch can not change the burn rate quick enough. Youve been warned.....

Get some of their Street Cannons or Screaming Eagle slip-ons. They're louder than stock but not nearly as loud as others.

Are you speaking of all Vance and Hines slip'ons here? I'm running V&H straight shot slip-on's along with a Sledge intake and Power Vision tuner... Now you got me nervous. Sorry about the hijack ezrider.

No matter what you do to your exhaust, even if you kept it stock, you should consider some Thunder Torque Inserts™.
With these, you will get a bit deeper tone, producing a throatier growl/rumble.
Thanks for all the ideas...all I want is some slipons that have the sound I want out of the box, without being sold a Stage One with Air Filter and Tuner.
