2-1 Exhaust
The only stipulation is that I want a system that isn't obnoxiously loud. My 3" Rush exhaust with 1.75" baffles is plenty loud for my taste and probably my neighbors as well. Give me recommendations.
I like it a lot but it does kind of look like something of a sport bike.

According to them, the Patriot Defender was the best performer and was used as their benchmark. As 2-1's go, it probably one of the best looking too IMO. However, lean angle/clearance might be a problem with them. Doesn't really matter though - they stopped making them. Bummer.
Close second - per Hammer's test results - Supertrapp's Supermegs
As can be seen in Hammer's dyno results - the 20 disc comp end cap setup is equal, if not better than the Patriot Defender all the way up to 6.5k rpm. I'd say for practical purposes, it's a better performer. Perhaps for some, a downside may be that they are a pretty quiet pipe. Only other issue are looks and perhaps lean angle/clearance. Looks are in the eye of the beholder. You'd have to ask those that have them installed about clearance issues.
Maybe another possibility, the D&D Bobcat. I've never been a big fan of it's looks, but to others it might be eye candy. Seems to be a decent performer. Also, from the clips I've watched, they don't seem to be too loud.
Just poking around and looking at the dyno results on Hammer's website, one might find that 2-1's aren't necessarily a must. For example, a pipe that I've often seen maligned as a poor performer is V&H Short Shots. Here's their comparison with the Patriot Defender...
The baffled version seems to equal - if not better - the Patriot all the way up to 6K+ rpm. For everyday riding - does that separation above 6K+ matter? If you want to win the numbers game on a piece of paper, then the separation past 6K+ might be a bummer. For practical purpose though... Meh.
Probably a more valid criticism of the Short Shots is the prevalence. For a while it seemed that's all you saw. But then again, there was probably a reason for that. To many they look and sound good.
I wonder why you'd want to get rid of the Rush's. They look to be good performers. You just want a different look?
