On my 1996 1200 custom with dual gauges the speedometer quit working and the turn signals would not automatically cancel and it was the speed sensor.
Your bike has a wire between the speedo and flasher unit, which is why the cancelling wouldn't work.
ladyrider61, if the wire from your speedo sensor is damaged or has a bad connector somewhere, that can have the same affect as a faulty sensor. Do the trip and mileage still work?
Hello,
Can not seem to get operating this site right...
Sorry for the delayed reply. No the odometer not working it is blank. I did change speed sensor and still not working.
I purchased a Dakota Digital MCL-3200 but now need housing and cup to fit it because my stock one is a dual one.
I purchased a Bikers Choice #169388 single mount, will be delivered tomorrow.
Bigggg Sigh, found out it is going to be too big. The BC Mount is 4", found this out after I ordered, and new gauge is 3 3/8. Gauge (has no back plate) supposed to be installed in stock housing cup and mount. Any leads to correct single compatible mount please I would so appreciate. I am burnt out, been searching forever.
