Tomorrow I will have owned the Sportster for 1 year. I know there are some on here who are having problems but I could not be happier with this bike as it has been rock solid reliable. I'm right at 7000 miles on the bike right now, and have enjoyed every one of them. Harley Davidson put the fun back in riding for me, metrics are so refined, they are like sewing machines and were starting to become boring to me.
I have made a 'few' changes to make it mine, the usual chrome do dads, slipons, air cleaner, etc, etc, etc, etc...
Coming from owning only metrics since the '70's and scoffing about the supposed 'Harley mystic', I have come to the decision that there IS something about a Harley Davidson that all the other manufacturers cannot replicate. There has to be or all the people who complain, have problems, etc... wouldn't keep coming back. IMO, not that an HD is necessarily better but, there is Harley Davidson and there is everyone else.
Like I said, Harley put the fun/enjoyment back into riding for me.
grew up with HD'S, my dad had a custom shop in Bastrop, LA............i always rode watever he had i could put together in his junkyard, all metric, and owned all of em.......and finally own my first sportster (13th bike) at age 46 and she is my baby, love her
That blue is awesome firehawk! Stoked youre loving your Sporty, Im in the same boat with my 04. Came from metrics and now I see the Sportster is the bike for me. I doubt ill Ride anything else, I am tempted to get an EFI sporty like yours though
