Wanted to make my 2018 1200 Iron sound alittle better. Just could not take my bike sounding like a pissed off lawn mower any more.
I did not have alot to spend so I took a chance on the $100 DNA slips for now. I was really surprised to find the cats located in the stock mufflers. DNA slipons went on good, but the bolts that came with them were alittle short. Had some 1/4 longer 3/8 bolts on hand so no problem.
not a big fan of the entire exhaust system look, but at least it sounds like a Harley now.
I could feel a difference in performance. Its nothing spectacular but it is noticable. I have a grade to go up on my way to work, its always been a 4th gear climb if I wanted to stay at 65 - 70 mph. Now it will do it in 5th no problem.
these same slipons go by a few different names on ebay.
I saw these same mufflers on Amazon and they got my interest. I think they look good but have concerns over quality for such an inexpensive pair of slip-ons. Also, I don't want to become enemies with my neighbors. Are these just plug and play, no other mods required?
Plug and play but you'll need to buy different size bolts (a couple bucks at the hardware store). They are loud but tolerable in my view. I actually just ordered VH Short Shots and will be selling mine of my 2016 Iron. If you're interested in buying my used ones let me know (less than 200 miles).
