Recently got a sportster for a second bike. It does not have a tack. Can anyone tell me at what speed is the motor revving at 3500 rpm? Its a stock 883 low with cycle shack slip ons and a heavy duty screaming eagle clutch. every thing else is original and has 80,000 kms or 50,000 miles on it. Runs good burned no oil in the last 5,000 miles. I would like to be able to cruise all day at 75 mph but don't know if that will be over reving the motor. I want it to last a long time so don't want to abuse it
When my bike was an 883 I rode it all over the east coast at 75-80mph. Still got about 50mpg at that rate (US). They've got no problem cruising all day at that speed. Just check your oil at the start/end of every day.

The 883 is a motorcycle with a one third of the horsepower-to-weight ratio of a Honda RS125R, and a top speed less than the electronically-limited top speed of a Toyota Prius. In other words, you're going to have to flog the living pee out of it to get it to go at all.

If you REALLY believe that, you have no idea what you're talking about.
I've had three 883 Sportsters. Loved 'em all. That said, I would happily run 65 all day long. 70 isn't really pushing it too hard. Now...75 all day long? That's runnin' it pretty hard. I wouldn't tell anybody not to do it, but I wouldn't run my own at 75 all day.

I didn't ask for a stupid bit of nonsense. Are you mentally challenged or is something else wrong with you (maybe a small dick problem)

I'm gonna take a wild stab at it and guess that...
All I know is, when gas got to be $4+/gallon I bought a 2009 Honda Rebel to get me to and from work. It would get around 75-78 mpg, and is rated at 16 hp at the crank, and around 12 hp at the rear wheel. Keep in mind while it is considered a 250, the Rebel was actually 234cc. It would haul my 190# butt down the Interstate at 65 mph without breaking a sweat. One day I put 290 miles on it, alot of it on the Interstate.
Don't tell me an almost 1 liter v-twin bike hauling me at 75 mph is having the living pee flogged out of it to do so.
