Default Frame differnces and fitment questions

Ok I have a buddy that bought a 14 sportster 883 iron brand new when they came out. Well hes replaced everything on the bike with aftermarket parts including the engine and said he will sell me the lot of parts for 1200. So I am looking for a titled frame to rebuild the bike onto. My problem is I know after 2004 they switched to rubber mounted but i dont know what year frames the parts will fit on with little to no fabrication. I can turn a wrench well enough and done quite a few rebuilds on cars but this is my first bike project and I dont want to get over my head by buying a frame thats too old and requires alot of fabrication. The parts include engine/transmission combo , swingarm, tank, fenders, forks, tires and rims. Pretty much he bought the iron then wanted custom body parts bigger engine the works so can get everything minus the original frame and a few gauges. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Kenneth

2004+ frames should fit all rubbermounts. The ancillary parts sometimes vary from year to year, but the frame mounting for the engine is virtually unchanged.

I have a 2017MY year bike but when I look for stuff it refers to 2014 and newer...
On the 17 MY there is a carbon collector box under the frame and the battery box and electronics are moved around.
The swingarm and mountings will be different on an earlier bike as the 17 uses a single long bolt.

It will probably be easier to get a manual or visit one of the parts websites

Thanks for all the replies so far. Andy from Sandy the site you linked really helped me narrow it down with the pictures of the frames along with the corresponding part numbers for each year it really is helping me figure out which frames I could work with and which ones are just too different. Im still going to do some more research before i choose the right frame so anymore advice anyone has will be considered and definitely appreciated looks like I might actually be able to build my first harley with all of y'alls help.

According to Ronnies site, a new frame is 1600 u.s.d. so would still be a cheap bike.
