You said that they are 41". Is that including the cables? Those would be way to long if you measured correctly.
You only measure the actual jacket.
Actually, thats not necessarily true. I ordered mine separate and at different times because I wasn't going to use the return cable. It's a safety feature and not necessary.
When I looked up what I needed to add 6" or 4", whatever it was, it came out way longer than the throttle cable prompting me to call. After some confusion, I was told it was measured by the cable. Yet when I bought the throttle cable a month earlier, IT was measured by the jacket. Why the difference I have no clue. She didn't either.
One more reason to not buy a kit I thought tho.
On a side note, the only reason i ended up using a return cable is it's the only way I could get all the slack out of the throttle cable. Otherwise I had just a tad too much free play in the throttle that I find annoying as hell.
Its been awhile now and I cant remember the exact lengths. I was just going by what Burley told me the length was supposed to be. Im going to pull my tank off and remove the good pull cable and get a exact measurement. Since they sent me a clutch cable last week, instead of my throttle idle cable and they told me to keep it , I figured I now have a spare. As it turns out, the clutch cable the sent me is 10 inch's longer than the correct one they alresdy sent me.
I dont think they know what they are doing there.

Im not sure how Burley is measuring the cables in their kits. I always thought on the throttle you measured from the sheath end to the bend in the throttle tube.
I just figured since it was their cable kit to go with the height of their bars on my bike, they knew what size. Now I dont think they have a clue.
just the plastic, rubber, sheath, jacket.................no metal ends
brake lines include metal ends in measurement from what i went thru...
none from burly tho, that might b the problem why i read bad reviews on their kits

Looking it up, Zateeva way is the Acceptable norm.@ Burley and Magnum, just from the lip on the carb end to the end of the cable where it meets the end fitting adjuster.
Bur other company's do it different.
