I also put a Barnett spring plate replacement set with all new fiber plates on my 1200C at about 30,000 miles. Figured with new fiber plates, the clutch would outlast me. The rivets were loose, none broken, but looked like the time left could be as soon as the next day. The clutch action actually felt better to me without the plate. Whatever, I recommend replacing that spring plate any time you get into the clutch, or just have the primary cover off when it's easy to get to.

According to Dr. Google:

"It is there to make for a smoother, more forgiving clutch. Other OEMs may use
a judder spring assembly and/or damper springs in the clutch basket to achieve a similar result."
