Hi all. If any of of you have done a wire tuck on your EFI with NO tank lift can you please either post a pic here or DM me a pic of what it looks like under your tank? I'm trying to route the wires and connectors to get the tank to fit but I'm still about 1-1.5" off. Worked on it for about an hour today but just couldn't get it right.
Seems like there's plenty clearance for the connectors towards front of tank. I think it's towards the rear where that bunch of wires has to come up and under that's pinching. Here's where I'm at.
I haven't done it myself but from what I've read on here it is possible but only by removing the connectors and splicing the wires with solder being sure to stager the joints then heat shrink the splices, avoid big blobs of electrical tape. You could start with the back and work your way forward test fiting as you go, that way you might not have to do the ones at the front.
In my experience, you cant fit all of the connectors on the top of the backbone
without a lift. What you'll have to do is locate a few of the connectors on the
side of the tube. You can somewhat tell they're there if you look up under the
tank, but the black tape hides them pretty good. Here's a pic of mine with no lift.
You can make out a bulge towards the bottom of the tank. I left the connectors
intact, I did not de-pin them. (the tank bolts are not installed in this pic)

Help would be much appreciated.
Here's a LINK to a step by step, with Photo's, on doing a wire tuck with no tank lift.
Thanks all so far. I'm handy with the solder but trying to avoid that if possible. I had it all wrapped tight under the backbone but you could still notice the bulge from the side.
If nobody comes with a non-cutting idea to get it all on top this week I'll probably end up snipping. I've already devalued my scoot this far,...may as well go all the way! lol Just breaks my heart every time I cut a line.

Did you look at the link I posted above? No cutting. Yes, looking from below you can see some wires, but standing next to the bike they are totally hidden.

I did. The angle of the pic on your site didn't look as good as these pics you posted here. Thanks for coming back. Did you use your self fusing or regular electrical tape? Did you tape just the wires or backbone and wires?
I may try 1 more time to get it all on top. There has to be a way to Tetris it all together and make it work. Would be so clean. I'll report back.

FWIW, I taped the connectors to the backbone, from the plastic cover at the rear almost to the tank bolt.
Cant really see the tape or connectors unless you look up from below.

Yeah, our synopsis needs better pics. Will be fixing that tomorrow. Sorry for that.
That was a Customer that did that and he used electrical tape. I would recommend using the self fusing silicone. Less messy after it gets hot.
I have never done one personally without a tank lift, but have seen some nice ones, even better tucked than in the link above, without cutting any wires. Just a matter of trial and error to get it right.
