Default Harley Quick-Release Windshield

Just got the windshield and put it together. Easy to do. It said that I needed to re-route my clutch cable. Well, I decided to put the shield together and see what it looked like on. Snapped it on per instructions and it seems like I really don't have to move anything. I put Pearl through a complete range of motion test and nothing rubbed or pinched. Does this sound right.

Sounds right to me... the instructions made it seem more difficult / complicated that it was.

Well, I'm glad that you brought this up. Mine was on mine when I bought the bike so I don't have the instructions. Now, I have wear marks on the cable because it wasn't re-routed. I put electrical tape on it because it wore the black coating off of the cable in one small spot.

I didn't re-route mine either. Haven't had any problems, but then I don't ride with the thing on very often, and it's pretty much only on long interstate rides, so the bars aren't turning much then.

No need to move anything. I ride with mine most of the time because I got tired of getting hit with rocks and cig butts etc...

Yeah i loved that quick release clamp windshield on my deuce. while my friends were fumbling with thier "quick release pinned" windshields i was ready to go. and the no left behind hardware is a definite plus. Good luck with it.

I didn't re-route anything either (thought, the intructions said so as well) and the only place it could rub already had a rubber/plastic shield on the metal to keep it from wearing out.

I think they needless write those intructions too complicated so you'd think twice about installing it yourself and let the guys at the dealer do it for you. I remember when I bought my Sporty I also bought the Sundowner seat (so my better half could ride with me) and they offered to schedule and installation for it. And no, the installation was not going to be free... I guess it's too much trouble for some people to take one screw off to remove the old seat and put it back with the new seat.
