I live in Las Vegas, and summer temperatures can reach over 115 degrees. HD motorcycles are tuned very lean from the factory; the lean tuning increases engine heat. I did a Stage 1 conversion using Vance & Hines components (including the FP3 Tuner) and experienced a 15+ degree reduction in oil temperature. I plan to install an oil cooler within the next 30 days, but I am sill not sure which one. But, be realistic; when stopped in traffic or stop & go go conditions, the air cooled engine isn't getting enough air flow and an oil cooler won't help much without a fan.

Love the idea of the relocation and reusable filter. It'd be interesting to see measurements of practical benefits of the cooling benefits of that combo, with or without oil cooler (ie: is it noticeably cooler on the legs, or run noticeably better under same usage and ambient temps?), particularly with a Sporty where it doesn't seem to be necessary but might be nice. I will very likely get the relocation kit next year when I'm ready for another oil change. Oil cooler probably a bit beyond my practical budget.
