Default Buffing machines?

Is there a small buffing machine that you can get into small areas to polish your aluminum?

If I had a wife and kids I wouldnt need the machine. I prefer to be single and have the ability to buy a newer harley or two or three anytime I want to.

good point, however, my wife bought my ride (ok - see gave me permission) and the kids were the ones harrassing the snot out of her to get Daddy on a HARLEY! - I wouldn't trade any of them - except the bike - but your familiar with the situation, it will work out in the end, let us know what you find on the buffing area - I'll see what I can find, I'm thinking some kind of adjustable speed dremil tool with a buffing head (even it you had to fabricate it yourself) would be the nads.

That's what I was thinking too.. a Dremel with an extension and a buffer on it. I know they sell buffing wheels for them.

You might look into buffing wheels for electric drills. That is what I used on the rockers of a 1987 Heritage that I had. Used some rust colored jeweler's rouge and got a real good shine..

Regards,

Bill

The dremel will work but you will blow through buffing wheels, pads and whatever else you try to spin on it. Dremels will also take a long time to buff anything of size. I use the old fashioned elbow grease method myself when it comes to aluminum, seems to work out better most of the time.

I'll second Bill on the drill attachment for larger items.

What evcjohn said. I do use the Dremel at times and it is good esp if you use Never Dull and use the Dremel to buff it off. It jus takes time. Tim

I'm also with ECVJOHN on this one. Good rubbing compound such as the one's made by 3M or Dupont and elbow grease is the best solution. On the areas as small as what's on a Harley, it's not that much work....Thank God :-) I'm always cleaning something on my bike...lol
