Bought my first last August at the age of 45. An 07 1200L. Got over 18,000 on it and am having fun. Why did I wait so long to discover how much fun bikes are?

Had a no-name mini bike w/ a 3hp Briggs & Stratton in '74, multiple bicycles until 2006 then the 883C.

Pre-teen Crime Story Alert: The pull rope on the Briggs had a broken rewind spring, so I'd have to reach into the case and spin it back up by hand; that sucked. Then I noticed my neighbors' lawn mower had the same exact case as the mini-bike's, so, in the dead of a hot summer night, I exchanged cases with his. Ooooh, such evil!! He probably pulled his rope the next day and said, "Awww, s#!t!" [:@]

I'll be getting 20 minutes in Hell for that one.[sm=badbadbad.gif]

I didn't get a bike til about a year ago at 22. It was an97 Magna 750. I let my mom ride it (she had a sporty trike at the time)and shelayed it down lol. I sold it and about six months later I got the old ugly purple 021200 Sportster that is now my hardtail bobber sportster.

Magna was alot faster, but the Sportster is about 100 times cooler and more fun.

early 80's Suzuki RM80
1984 Kaw. KDX125
then cars till about 4-5 years ago, then my son wanted a dirt bike[8D]
So I got him a used Honda CR50 & myself a 85' Suzuki RM250.
2 years later my bud bought a 06' Shadow 750 Areo I took for 1 spin and headed straight to get the bike I always wanted a new Sportster but HD financing said no and Triple S only uses them so I left there and went straight to were Bob got his and left with my 06' ShadowAfter a year of riding that it was tax time and I decided I'll buy a used one cash[&:]Bought my 89' 883H off eBay Feb. 07' and drove to Iowa toget it in a blizzard the whole time and the dealership had 06's on clearance and there was my black883C sitting there for $1500+ cheaper than what I would have to pay back homeGave Dawn the 89' for her B-day but she was intimidated by it I think. The weight and the SE Carb, jets,AC made it pretty fast but she actually likes how my Shadow sits so hopefully there is her startI put 3400 on my Shadow in the year I owned it & 4200 on my Sportster since Feb. including a few freezing rides that I ran into snow on. But I was to stoked to finally get "my bike"[sm=biker2.gif]

2) 1968 Honda Mini Trail
3) 1969 Kawasaki 120 Trail Bike
4) 1972 Yamaha 125 MX
5) 1973 Yamaha RD250
6) 1977 Yamaha RD400 (fast bike!)
7) 1976 Kawasaki 500 (really fast!)
8) 1977 Kawasaki KZ1000 (fastest bike I ever owned)
9) 19?? Honda CB400 (Used bike. Cheap transportation)
10 19?? Honda 350 (Used bike. Cheap transportation)
11) 1986? Honda CR500 (fastest dirt bike I ever road!)
12) 2006 Harley XL1200C

I think this picture was taken in 1973. I'm on the right on my new Yamaha 125 MX, my friend is on my 1969 Kawasaki 120. That's my Captain America helmet he is wearing too. I wish I still had that! What a classic! For you "older" Southern California guys this picture was taken at Escape Country, now long gone!
