The laws in Romania forbids me (or makes it EXTREMLY expensive) to use anything else then a original frame. So I need original frame+registration. The price is the word of the day since my budget doesn't allow me to go over 1000 Eur.The frames I found(frame+registration) are 400-900 Eur so I'm in the budget. If I cannot fit the budget I will sell it for parts.
@WKNDS : same rules here, insurance price rises proportional to engine displacement. But I won't throw a hissy fit if I find a Sportster 1200 frame , the inssurance is the last of my problems now.Anyway....it's gonna be a long winter
@sharpe 400 - 900 is very very cheap for straight frames, those frames would be bought for registration only and used on hard-tail conversions or other less legit stuff.
the frames are from a motorcycle dismantling company, legit business.Otherwise I wouldn't consider the option.Anyway....I will first ask for VIN number and check it but I get the frame with bill of sale,One downside is that it has US papers, I will have to pay customs for the whole built.
That explains a lot , EU registered frames are not that cheap.
Good luck with your search and build, keep us posted about the progress.
Expensive....? Couldn't find any.... it's like they're made from space dust not iron.
In US....another story....but US sellers send the frame with just the bill of sale, not the registration so it's useless for me.The only one I could find in Canada with registration sent me shipping quota 1200 USD for a 500$ frame....
if I order something from China (not the case here) it takes 3-4 weeks and costs like a pack of cigarrets ...from US or Canada it's like y're renting the entire damn shipping container

I know , the days from ordering in the US without paying top dollar on taxes, shipping, etc is long gone. What you are saying about China, I can not understand that eater, they asking for some products for example 1 including
shipment, I can hardly sent a normal letter for that kind of money in my own country.

For us, Europeans, Canada is the deal nowdays.Since CETA was signed 99% of canadian custom taxes are gone ....only shipping remains a problem
regardin China...the deal is simple : there are alot of companies that work and cooperate for everything from production to shipping. And keep in mind that China's economy is a mix bitween state driven economy(centralised economy) and some capitalism.Their deal is simple : they have to feed billions so they make them all work . Better work for food rather then die of hunger.
the China subject is thick and not apropiate for this thread. PM ?
