Getting Hammered
i finally got the time to knock out a 883 to 1275 conversion. I’m going with Hammer Performance. I’ve been wanting to do this for a few years now. I decided on going with the 90ish HP setup which includes 1275, impact 560 cams, and some head work.
Here she is before I tore her down. Was originally a ‘12 Iron 883 I bought new. I’ve done a
lot of work over the years, very happy with the way she sits now.
But definitely needed an improvement in the engine!
New Energy One clutch and stronger spring plate installed
Engine torn down and heads sent off to Hammer for some work.
Chopped the cam cover while I had it off for the cam install and bronze oil drive gear install. Still need to wet sand edges and either powder coat or just spray with HD wrinkle black paint.
I forgot to order the bronze oil gear drive so I gotta wait on that so I can install cams. Also doing a lowbrow customs belt to chain conversion. Need to find a 1 7/8 socket for the sprocket tho. I also dropped off the tank for some new paint
Headed out of town on break for the holidays. More to follow.

This damn transmission sprocket is giving me a hell time. Been using heat, 25” breaker bar, PB, and now an impact. And yes I know they are reverse threaded.

Finished up the cam cover too, also happy with the results
Now I just need my heads and 1275 parts back from Hammer to finish this up
