I'm going to do a tank lift/wire tuck on my 2019 Iron 883, a lot of videos I've watched people do Coil Relocations as well. Is that necessary? Is it just a "While I'm under the tank..." thing?
I'm going to do the coil and ignition relocate on my wife's '20 XL883N. Astectially I think the coil looks better between the jugs and when I ride her bike I hate having to lean up to the neck to reach the ignition. I want to do a wire tuck also since it makes the bike look SO much better, but do I need a tank lift for the clearance or can I do the tuck without it?
Thanks for the reply. Aesthetically I can totally understand, it looks much nicer opening up the top of the heads. So I guess it's more for that look lol. I'm gonna have to get into it :eyes: As for the wire tuck without the lift; I think the lift is needed to create the space under the tank and between the frame to route the wires. Lifting creates that recess for the wires to fit. But I'm a noob so I might be wrong that's just what I've noticed.

u will need to do a tank lift with a wire tuck.i did 1.5" and the wiring was almost tight after i wrapped it in EZ FUZE TAPE.
As your 883 Iron is a 2019 model, does it not have keyless ignition system ? my 2018 48 does. If so it means you don't have an ignition switch to relocate and it's a simple enough task just to relocate your coils between the jugs, or cylinders if you prefer, with a suitable kit that's readily available, plus it looks so much nicer with the coils out of the way also.
After I did my wire tuck I only had to raise the tank by a tad over 1" or 28mm to be exact.

I know you weren't replying to me, but thanks for the tuck info. I wasn't lucky enough to find a bike that was keyless or had ABS. Also, for the OP I swear by DK Productshttp://www.dkcustomproducts.com/ check them out for tank lifts, coil relocation, etc. Top-quality products and great guys!
