On my 08 883, one throttle cable has a spring and the other doesn’t. I thought that the cable with the spring went on the pull side (increase throttle), as shown in my picture.
In the reassembly process, I discovered the holes in the throttle assembly are different sizes - smaller on the idle control side. As I’m trying to go now, the non-spring cable will not fit in the hole.
