Default Acceleration stutter

I was having a fuel leak from the carb and after I rebuilt it, the bike started to stutter while accelerating. I did notice upon further inspection that there was no accelerator pin in the carb kit that I got, and when I looked around and thought about it, I don’t remember ever having one when I first got the bike. It’s an ‘01 sportster 1200. Any help works be greatly appreciated!

The Accelerator Pin is the mechanical connection to the Flux Capacitor. Without it, the relay won't work and just go click, click.

It's actually not possible that carb was without the pin but considering the fact it has been misplaced already so just buy a new one.

Upon reflection, I'll guess that it could be the Accelerator Pump actuator rod . That being missing would certainly not help with acceleration .

Maybe the "accelerator pin" is the "jet needle" in the vacuum slide assembly? We did have a question about "tuning" a clutch the other day rather than "adjusting" it.

Maybe motorcycle terminology is changing before our very eyes? Russian disinformation? Deep state conspiracy?

Go to this link here:
https://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche...TOR%20ASSEMBLY
and look at the parts breakout and tell us what you are calling the "accelerator pin" and see what number it is. Then, on the same page look at the list of parts on the bottom half of the page. Scroll down until you reach the number of the part you are calling the "accelerator pin" and then let us know what it is you are actually talking about. Because the only thing that is listed as a "pin" is the hinge pin for the float body that moves up and down as fuel flows into the bottom bowl of the carb.and a couple of really REALLY small cotter pins. If you're talking about the "idle screw" (#17) (which the end looks like the point of a pin) the bike would not idle without it, and if you were talking about the main jet needle (#7) there would be no acceleration or de-acceleration. Once you tell us what the actual name of the part you are talking about, maybe we can help you more.

That would make more sense! I’ll ask around about that.
