Servicing

I just bought an '01 883C it has 1500 miles. Only 500 miles on it in the last 3 1/2 to 4 years. What services should I perform. I know I need to change the oil. But is there anything else that I should check/change?

I would take to a dealer and have a full 1,000 mile service done on it. If it has sat that long there are a lot of things that need to be looked at, and a GOOD service person is likely to find things that you might miss.

I would drain the gas and clean out the carb. bowl. If it misses when riding take the tank petcock off an clean or but a new tank filter, these tend to get gumed up if its sat for awhile.
