mine seem to be REAL loud while riding for the first 30 minutes or so... after that, they seem to quiet down a bit at a stoplight.
but anyways, yup, they are insane!!! you can get the quiet baffles from easternperformance.com. thats who i got my pipes, and some other things from. good service.

the only issue i have with my v&h straights shots is that every now and then i pass a parked car that it's alarm sets off and scares the **** outta me. other than that i believe loud pipes saves lives!!

Ok, here's a question.... what's the difference from the 04-06 pipes to the 87-96 pipes? I see alot of sweet pipes for the newer bikes that are not available for the older bikes....
