I just adjusted it and Im still having this problem.
bike feels as if it is not fully disengaging and doesnt want to go into neutral also shifting is hard. I must be doing something wrong but this is the second time adjusting it

After adjusting the release mechanism are you then adjusting the cable for 1/16" to 1/8" of play in the cable?
Before you do the chain are you finding the tightest spot?
In other words are you following all the steps in the factory service manual?
only thing I messed up on was I did not release the tension on the cable before adjusting clutch.
so I will do that once I get home and update you everything else I have done by the Manuel

so after doing all the correct steps this is the problem that I noticed after a 20 min ride. So the clutch lever would sometimes feel soft almost like no tension then it goes back to feeling tension. Came back to see if cable had play and it did have more play then when I adjusted it so re adjusted it and play is where it should be. If Im correct seems like my cable is stretched or frayed ?
