What whapp and teek said... I use the throttlemate and it works great. I'm sure you could just adjust the tension on the star and leave it with no problems as others have mentioned. My preference is to have the throttle snap back to idle with no effort unless I set the throttlemate.

Thanks for the explanation. That's what I thought it did. May have to try one of these.

I purchased one awhile back. Great Product but I couldn't get the damn wheel to tighten enough to hold the throttle....Any Ideas? Since I can't lock the throttle with the wheel the lock doesn't do me any good...I have moderate carpel tunnell and hell my throttle hand goes to sleep alot. Just letting my hand get off the throttle for a minute or so wakes it up. Would love to find out why my throttle wheel does not lock....Anybody have any ideas?

My only thought is there could be a burr or some disfigurement on the end of the screw that binds against the throttle. I would take the screw out and use a file or emery paper to get a good flat surface on the end of the screw and see if that wouldn't help.

Thestar wheel threads into a curved shoe inside the switch housing that puts tension on the throttle (like a scrub brake). Taking the screw out and filing it should have no effect. Take the switch housing apart and see what the trouble is.
