Okay, heres the deal.........I have an hour and a half super slab commute on I-75to work each day. Don't get me wrong, the little plastic thumbwheel is a hell of a luxury(as far as ghetto standards are concerned); but there has to be something a littlebetter out there as an alternative. I want instant on, and instant off. There's gotta be something out there. I'm open to all suggestions. Thanx.
Years ago i had a cruise control thingy on a 650 yamahamaxim irode from palmdale calif to westville new jersey in LATE november.....BURRRRRRRR ! I believe it was called a vanda cruise.....It was a little lever you simply flipped down that applied a pre-set amount of friction to the throttle grip.......It worked really well.......Never had any troubles with it.....Just a quik flip of the thumb and it was on , or off..BUT it would not of course regulate speed when going uphill or down hill etc......if i was doing 75mph when i flipped it on......then when i went down hill i would go faster, and slower up hill etc.....But overall it was very simple, and reliable......and very inexpensive also.Only used it for LONG trips....And its a great thing to be able to take your hand off the throttle for awhile.....I betcha i rode no handed for hundreds of miles during that trip.........My hands were in my pockets gittin warm !
