Bogging issue
Hello ladies and gents, so I bought my 93 1200 sportster with 14,000 miles and we’ll maintained from a buddy. He hasn’t been able to ride it for a little while now and I noticed that I get a small bogg when I throttle down, shift, then throttle back up. But the second I give it more gas she rides just fine. He said that it may just need a good ride because she has been sitting for about 2-3 months, it has a S&s carb and starts right up no problems and no backfiring. What do you guys think could be going on. Should a nice ride do it or what do you suggest? Thank u, “Geeker”….

I would get a rebuild kit for the carb and start there. It isn't that much $$. Take that carb apart and get you some Berryman carb cleaner dip and let the parts soak to clean them. Also check your vacuum hoses and check for vacuum leaks by spraying brake cleaner on hoses and around carb and see if the idle increases which means a leak.
