Wow, that's the very first time I've ever read about two types of stage 1. And I've been on here for nine years. I think I'd include tires as well. Good tires make a world of difference.

RobRoy'sRevenge is right. You can learn something every day!!!

Well at this point it really does not matter. As good as the V&H Short Shots SOUND . . . they kill performance.

I have only heard of staging as changes to the power plant. HD refer to it as the power train.

Has the back plate been changed to the flat one so no snorkel inlet?

Can you have a stage 2 seat with stage 1 pipes?
What kind of oil does a stage 3 need and can I run it in my stage 1 bike?
Sorry but this conversation has left the building.
Just sayin'

No changes, stock backplate. It has the snorkel inlet in the bottom front.

You could well then have what is the K&N version of the stock air cleaner.

If you look again at the SE kit or Hammer kit you can see how much bigger the air cleaner is covering the whole of the back plate.

a mc is a system designed to work together if you engine the output of the engine you over work the brakes causing them to heat up and wrapping which in turn causes things like pulsing and can also be one cause of the death wobble.
over the yrsthis was lost cause guys are to cheap to do a bike right but shops want to make money so now a stage 1 is known as a intake pipes and a tune or on carb bikes a jet kit..
