Thank you for that...several pipe examples, including the Short Shots seem to have choppy torque down low...though the peak torque numbers seem rather closely bunched with most of the pipes tested, with a few outliers.

LOL! He didn't think there would be a quantified answer.

The other guy thinks a 10% kick in power requires a complete suspension and brake make over.

This thread is the comedy relief I needed at the moment.

They are better than a lot of 2-1s and up to 5000 RPMs As good as or slightly better than the Patriot defender, no baffle, they pull as good or better from 5000 RPM to 6500 RPM.

This is also with an aftermarket cam, has a lot to do with where things happen as well.

Unbaffled with TTIs from DK Customs or a thumb screw etc., would probably clean that up.

I see nothing in your link that quantifies ...."they kill performance".

The dyno you posted shows that the unbaffled SSs are the worst. 10hp less in the Sporties sweet spot. Nobody rides around at 6K rpm.

Dragsters have straight pipes because all they do is drive at wide open throttle.

If you want loud, SSs are it.
If you want street performance, you don't.

Hammer's intake looks Ok, but I'd also consider/recommend @DK Custom Products for your application/upgrade:

A noticeable dip in torque for the unbaffled SS in the 3000-4500 range, as well. That's pretty much where most of us probably ride, I would expect.

You may have to get vaccinated, but no one here is forcing you to take our advice, or even agree with us. You have the absolute unbridled "freedom" to spend your disposable income as you see fit. As long as it's legal, of course. So even that has some restraints on your "freedoms." People sometimes really need to decide what hill they want to die on.

Good luck.

And baffled it is as good as many and even better from 2700-5700 and I quote..."3000-4500 range, as well. That's pretty much where most of us probably ride, I would expect."

So once again I repeat...."I see nothing in your link that quantifies ...."they kill performance"".

And I repeat..."where is your better pipe?"

So I have no dog in this fight... Having said that,
I think there are a few folks using the Supertrapp Supermegs
with good results....
